Product Description
One of the most labor intensive and time consuming aspects of being a Mom is the house work. The mundane chores of keeping house can drag you down, but don’t lose heart! Remember that by creating a clean and comfortable home for your kids to grow up in means you are enabling them to go out and be the next generation that changes the world. It is good that you want to have everything clean and organized so that your house is a place where your kids and husband feel comfortable bringing friends home and so that you can focus more on your family and less on the dust bunny in the corner, but very rarely does it ever seem to reach that level.
This kit is here to help you with task lists that will help you work more efficiently. It will also bring you more satisfaction as you cross things off those lists. The following is a description of each page in the Housekeeping section.
I always think to myself that if I just cleaned for half an hour a day, I wouldn’t have such a huge job to do every week. That strategy never worked for me until I began using this Daily Cleaning Duties chart. Broken up into each day of the week (besides the day of rest), the duties that need daily attention are all listed, as well as one larger task such as vacuuming, dusting, or laundry. When you look at this list, the housework seems way less daunting and much more manageable. This is a great page to laminate and use continuously.
There will still be days when you want to spend more time conquering all the dirt in your home. The next page, the Deep Cleaning List will help you there by providing a comprehensive set of tasks divided by rooms. Nothing is more satisfying than checking everything off this list!
At some point in your life as a Mom, your kids will be old enough to take part in housework. Not only will this lift a little off your shoulders, but will also be crucial in teaching them independence and good character. It’s so important that you facilitate responsibility for the messes they make, but it can be hard to know where to start. Try the Kid’s Chore Chart printable in this Kit. This page gives space for 10 daily tasks and an area to check off the day they did them. When they fill the chart, they’ve earned a reward for their hard work!
Besides the daily or maybe weekly cleaning, if you own your home there are things that need to be done to keep your house functioning well with the change of the seasons. It’s sometimes hard to keep track of these things that you might do once, maybe twice a year, so I’ve included a Seasonal Maintenance page to remind you. Again, by using this list, you can allow yourself to take that information out of your brain, therefore, de-cluttering your mind.
Another important housekeeping task, is keeping track of the things that you have in your house. This is super important for insurance reason, but can also be useful for knowing what’s in those storage areas that you don’t always visit. Use the Home Inventory page to list all the items of value in your home according to room. If you are like me, you might be thinking it’s time for a garage sale while filling this page out.
A home wouldn’t be well run without a solid Emergency Plan in place. Fill this page out and have a family meeting on its contents which includes a list of members of your family, dates of birth, and any important medical information, a place to list your designated family meeting places in case of house fire, natural disaster, and a regional emergency, and, finally, emergency contacts.
The final page in the Housekeeping section is for Renovation Dreams. It can be so easy to get bogged down in the daily grind and you have an idea of what you want to do with your house, but those dreams can feel so large and unobtainable. However, when you put those dreams down on paper, you will have something to look forward to and work towards.
Housework may be one of the biggest tasks of being a Mom, but it can also be extremely satisfying to see your kids and husband enjoying the house that you, yourself created into a home.
