Affordable Rustic Wedding Inspiration

What a weekend! I’m still reeling from the excitement and activity of all the events that took place, the largest of which was my cousin’s wedding. We were best friends growing up and it was such an honor for me to be a part of her special day. Her decoration and style was as if it was a page taken straight from my book.

From the mason jars to deer antlers, I loved every detail of the choices she made. This post is going to be heavily photographic and meant to be an inspiration for those planning their own weddings, though, I will add tips for how the look came together for an incredibly affordable day.

Walking into the doors of the lovely church fellowship hall, guests come right to the gift table which featured a burlap skirt with lace border and “Thank you” bunting.

Further down the hall was a fun photo booth with props set on a rustic spool from my home.

The Polaroid camera was a blast! And, it put my pallet side table to good use.

`In case anyone had a sweet tooth, this vintage candy dispenser and treats awaited at the end of the hall.

Just inside the reception hall the cake table displayed an amazing looking cake with baby’s breath that sat upon a wood slice stand.

The wood slice that the cake cutting utensils sat upon was made by the groom. How sweet is that! The backdrop of fabric strips was made by Sarah, the bride.

 

The food table exemplified the same amazing vintage/country style while also providing guests with delicious pulled pork, fruit, chips, and pink lemonade. The backdrop was made from lace curtains from our Aunt’s home and gold runners.

Along the table we used birch logs, wooden crates, lanterns, vintage books, and candle to enhance the theme while keeping things simple and uncluttered.

 

These amazing folded page books were made by my incredibly talented and gorgeous sister who leads one of the most interesting lives I know with traveling, crafting, sewing, and music.

Of course the food table pales in comparison to the general splendor of the room and the lovely table centerpieces.

Sarah saved tons of money by using dried flowers, antlers found around the area, wood slices, burlap, and mason jars.

A good amount of the decorations were reused from her sister’s wedding which was only a few months ago. A few of the guests noted that they did not even realize the same decorations, which we can attribute to the change in flowers, venue, and addition of a mix of new items. She saved a TON of money this way. I love that she and her sister have a close enough relationship to feel no offence or jealousy over using the same decorations.

Paper straws sat in pretty mason jars.

But, of course, we can’t forget the glory of the room: the head table.

Again, the backdrop was homemade using fabric ripped from old sheets purchased at Salvation army strung along twine.

Antlers, mason jars, burlap, and baby’s breath were beautiful upon the table.

I didn’t get very many pictures of the actual wedding because I was way to busy enjoying the celebration of my best friend’s wedding. It was such a privilege to help and participate in and I would do it all over again in an instant…well, maybe the instant I catch up on sleep.
